What to expect

Lessons are held Monday through Friday, either at my private pool in Killeen, Texas or at your home/host pool at our scheduled time each day. A full session lasts 6 to 8 weeks, with lessons kept to 10 minutes a day, 5 days a week, which is the most effective structure for building strong, reliable Self‑Rescue skills. Each day, I’ll ask you a brief health questionnaire about your child and have you sign it so I’m fully updated on any medical or wellness concerns before we begin. A parent or guardian must remain present for the entire lesson since they are short and focused.

Before your session starts, I’ll send a detailed email outlining exactly what to bring and how to prepare so you feel confident and ready for your child’s first day.

FAQs
Do I need to stay for the lesson?
Yes — a parent or guardian must remain on‑site for the entire lesson. This ensures your child’s safety and allows you to observe their progress, learn what they’re practicing, ask questions after and support them outside of lessons.
What is your Pricing?
Pricing varies based on your family’s needs — including how many children will be enrolled and whether you’d like me to travel to your home pool. Because every family’s situation is different, I provide customized pricing to make sure you’re getting the right fit for your child and your schedule. The best way to get accurate details is to contact me directly, and I’ll be happy to walk you through your options.
Do you have children that just can’t learn the skills?
No. Every child can learn. It is my job to find the best way to communicate the information so that it makes sense to the child. I set your child up to be successful every time you bring them to me. I start where they are and through consistent lessons, we see progress.
Will my child fear the water because of lessons?
There is an important difference between being fearful and being apprehensive because you are not yet skilled in a new environment. ISR is not like traditional swim lessons; it is a drowning prevention program that teaches survival swimming. Sometimes as a parent, you make choices for your child’s safety, like sitting in a car seat, because you know they are important. The same can be said for ISR. Fun can be defined as when skill meets challenge. Once competent in their skills, many children cannot be dragged away from the pool. They are having entirely too much FUN.
